What is the mission of your organization?
Student Sponsor Partners (SSP) bridges the education gap for low-income and underserved New York City students through an integrated program that connects them with sponsors who fund a private high school education and mentors who provide guidance and emotional support, making a meaningful impact on their lives.
What populations do you serve?
SSP is dedicated to providing NYC high school students, who live in poverty and face significant barriers to academic success, with a college preparatory, non-public high school education. SSP students come from low-income households, live in underserved NYC communities, and are at risk of falling through the cracks.
How else can you get involved in your organization?
We are always looking for mentors to work with our students and guide them through their high school journey. If you have any interested in becoming a mentor or want to learn more, visit our webpage here.
What is the mission of your organization?
At Girl Scouts of Greater New York, we are motivated by a powerful mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
What populations do you serve?
Troop 6000 is a Girl Scout program specially designed to serve girls in the New York City Shelter System. We're just getting started, but our long-term goal is to expand this program across New York City so that each week, Troop 6000TM will meet in shelters across the city. Meetings are led by trained troop leaders – women also living in the Shelter System.

What is the mission of your organization?
By connecting our nation’s military Veterans with rescued animals, Pets for Vets helps create second chances and new beginnings. With over 300 successful matches and counting, we are changing lives one lick at a time.
What populations do you serve?
The enduring bond humans share with animals has the power to reduce suffering, mitigate loneliness, improve mental well-being and bridge the gap between ourselves and others. For our returning troops, these benefits are especially important to help ease the transition into civilian life.
How else can you get involved in your organization?
We rely on a team of dedicated volunteers to help make a difference in the lives of Veterans and rescued animals. No matter what your interest, talent or skillset, we probably have an opportunity for you – if you’re interested, fill out our volunteer form here.
